Asiago, Hotel Milano

A room with a view. Currently at 6.20pm of a thunderstorm rolling around the hills behind Asiago.
Today, Monday, we have been down into the Trento valley via winding route across the Altipiano and down down down. Mostly forestry on the way but across the top some alpine style pastures with well fed cattle and some very nice looking horses. Ski runs down through gaps in the forest but no extensive clearing for same so all very pleasantly scenic. Trees seem to be selectively logged and stacked in neat piles awaiting removal. The actual event was at Levico Terme a small town surrounded by orchards and various fruit growing and maize at this lower level. The best part of the event was swimming in the lake;  I was unfussed to find it was another short town sprint, having had to miss yesterday's proper O due to there being only one bus into Asiago arriving mid afternoon with no way from there other than tramping 5 or more km to get there and too late anyway. But it was a nice little run around and the juniors did well. Robyn has stayed with the bus to go on to Trente to watch the WOC sprint relay, but I got a ride back here with the Moen's. Tomorrow we may be able to get to yesterday's map with a UK couple I know from many events in many countries. It is historically intriguing as full of trenches from WW One, when Italians held the AustroHungarian army at bay and out of Italy. Trenches not friendly for O- ing they said but going to go back and have a walk. As we can't get to the special "off day" event which we entered because the organisers decided not to lay on busses to that one,a visit to the trenches instead would be good!
People might pick that I am having trouble with the editor for this blog. Won't elaborate but it is a right pain so apologies for the poor quality. No idea why the photo is so low quality either, but things might get better yet so don't despair!
